The game follows the story of Desmond Miles, a modern-day assassin, as he tries to prevent a catastrophic event from occurring. Through the use of the Animus, a machine that allows Desmond to relive his ancestors' memories, players are transported to the late 18th century. Here, they take on the role of Ratonhnhaké:ton (or Connor), a half-English, half-Native American Assassin, fighting against the Templar Order in colonial America.
