The movie tells the story of Ramaiya, a poor but kind-hearted young man from a small village in India. He falls in love with Vastavaiya, a beautiful and rich girl from a different cultural background. Despite their differences, they develop strong feelings for each other, but their relationship is put to the test when their families and societal expectations come into play.
